Add-Ins deployed via centralized deployment should still be available after diabling optional connected experiences in office
In version 1904, the new privacy controls for O365 ProPlus have been released, including the possibility to deactivate so-called "optional connected experiences". The documentation states that those services are not covered by the contract made between the company and microsoft, so we'd like to deactivate those services.
Deactivating the optional connected experiences also means deactivating the office store and its add-ins. According to our tests, this also affects the add-ins, that have been explicitly deployed via centralized deployment.
This is not be behaviour we expected. If you deploy an add-in in the admin centre, it also means that it has been approved for company use and that the privacy requirements have been met.
This is why we'd like to continue the use of these add-ins after disabling the optionial connected experiences. Otherwise we will have to choose between configuring our office 365 landscape in a privacy friendly way while disabling a lot of important features, or leaving our office unconfigured while having unwanted functionality which may be problematic with privacy laws.
MS Support confirmed that issue to be "by design" for Outlook AddIns. Please change that behaviour for the reasons mentioned above.
