Report showing SharePoint user activity per site collection
It’s currently possible to get tenant-wide reports from SharePoint for user activity, and for site collection activity, but I need a combination of the two: user activity broken down per site collection.
Here’s the use case: here at UC Berkeley, most of our SPO users are members of more than one Site Collection. We’ve got a large number of Site Collections we suspect are not being used, or are only being used by a very small number of people.
However, we can’t confirm that unless we can get a breakdown of which users are using which site collections.
In other words, we want to be able to see that “in the past 90 days, users A, B, D and G have used site collection X; and users B, E, F, and G have used site collection Y”
The data necessary for this report exists in the audit logs, but it’s currently quite difficult to extract. Firstly because the audit logs themselves are hard do download for a complete 90-day span and secondly because of the post-processing necessary.

And if we could see what users access what sites (not just Site Collections) that would be great.
