Tenant-wide LOCALE setting for SharePoint
It's nice that Microsoft have added the ability to have a TIMEZONE setting - for the entire tenant.
BUT - there's no way to set the 'locale'. This is in the regional settings for a SharePoint site.
And so I still have to go to each - and change to "English (Australia)" - otherwise I get the (only American) date format 03/29/2019
WHY didn't this get added with the 'tenant wide timezone' setting ??
I'm a bit surprised - it would have been easy to add LOCALE at the same time ??

Hi, I'm voting for that issue as well as our tenant has been wrongly set up to US locale while should be UK (2057) and Microsoft said that it cannot be changed even from their end..
I have created a PowerShell script to change all existing sites to UK locale and it worked for most of the sites, but did not for sites created by Teams for private channels. So this brings another complication...
Came on Microsoft, sort out SharePoint locale issue!

Moving to Teams is going to be a nightmare with making sure all our SharePoint sites are in Australian date format! Please bump this up the queue MS!!

C'mon Microsoft, this should be a quick and easy win. Just make this change happen.

It is crazy that this is not following the tenant location and there is no way to change the default option from English (US) to my actual location.
Not even a PowerShell command to change site settings in mass, cmon Microsoft!

I did think this could be changed by MS. Surely there is a better way than running unsupported powershell or using site templates.

Is there anyone listening to the UserVoice from Microsoft ?? This is still a problem - I have a script that I run once a week, that resets all of these locales - but it should be a Microsoft fix.

This needs to be added, and soon! The presumption that by default all sites require US settings is an appalling oversight, and should be configurable by the Tenant Admin.

Because 'Murica. And that Microsoft traditionally have a really poor track record with usability. I agree with you Chris, this should have been a very obvious implementation.

Most countries use DMY format, or YMD - rather than the MDY as used in Micronesia, Marshall Islands, and (oh yes), America.
