Hello Microsoft Team,
Hope you are doing great. I am a SharePoint developer. I am working on SharePoint online office 365 E3 modern experience for creating a portal for my client by using Out of The Box Features. During my work I found a bug in Menu (Navigation).
Menu sub link navigation on mouse hover.
In first attempt to get Sub-Sub-Link A does not work.
Step to Reproduce
Click on edit to add links in header Navigation.
then under that create another link Sub-link A.
Then under home create a Sub-link A.
Then Create another Sub-Sub-Link A and Save it.
You see the screen as per screen shot. then hover the mouse on Home
Hover the mouse on Home as below screen shot.
Then move mouse to Sub Link A on > to get Sub-Sub-Link. Here you will not get those Sub-Sub link.
But when you move down to Sub Link B > you get its Sub -Sub link.
After that if you again hover to sub Link A > you will get the Sub- Sub Link A. This explains that on first attempt to get Sub-sub link A does not worked properly. I tested this issue in three browsers (Internet explorer, Google Chrome and In Mozilla Firefox). Also, with two different tenancy. With two different user and the issue is consistent in all the case.
S. N Browser Issue Status
1 Internet Explore Yes
2 Google Chrome Yes
3 Mozilla Firefox Yes
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks & Regards
I have found this bug on our tenant, as well as a test tenant. After testing the issue with the support team, we found out that the issue is on one pixel on the tip of the arrow that is displayed at the top on the megamenu box, when a menu item is hovered on.
To reproduce, create a site with a megamenu, and at least one menu item with submenu items
When hovering on the menu item, the megamenu will open to display the submenu items.
If you move your mouse down to the megamenu, the expected behavior is for the megamenu to stay opened and visible, so that you can select and click on a submenu item.
But if your mouse cursor hovers on the tip of the megamenu arrow, the megamenu will disappear: you have to move your mouse up again to hover a second time on the menu item to open the megamenu
It seems that the hover zone where the megamenu stays opened is comprised of the menu item rectangle, the megamenu rectange, and the arrow that connects the menu item with its megamenu, but somehow the tip of the arrow is not in the hover zone, and when your mouse cursor is on it, it's as if you have moved away from the zone...
