Hide users in Teams/Delve/Other O365 Apps that are not using Exchange GAL for address/user list
Currently a user can only be hidden in Exchange Online, not Teams. If you want to prevent a user from being shown in a list of user in other O365 apps such as Teams you are out of luck, they don't use the Exchange GAL. There is no way to prevent a user from being listed in a user search. My specific issue is that I want to hide some users from being found in Teams when you search to add users to a Team (federated user and cloud only users). I opened a case with Microsoft and was told there is no known way to do this. I presume this issue would exist for other Non-Exchange Online O365 apps/services.
Likewise very interested in this feature. In addition to situations like service accounts, people on leave of absence, and other common scenarios where an account needs to exist but also should not be in end user readable spaces, we keep accounts around for a period of time after a person has left the company. It is highly confusing to have people who are no longer with the company listed in the user viewable directory.
Please enable this option or allow the admin center to define what and or how the users are found in MS Teams and other office 365 apps...
This feature will be also important if you are removing users from the environment so the MS Teams channels do not get the notifications that users have been removed from the channels... Imagine a confidential case and the IT team is unable to remove the user for days or weeks from the environment as everyone will notice when they are removed from MS Channel enabled groups
We need "service" accounts for plugins or privileged accounts for admins, we can't have these showing up in the directory for collaboration.
I am having a multi domain environment and users get confused with the IDs which are not even assigned with a teams license. This functionality needs to be added in Teams soon as exchange online already have the feature.
I agree we definitively need that feature. It will also help hidding service account .
This functionality definitely needs to be added. Just recently our organisation had a couple of staff suddenly pass away, their accounts still showing on 365 platform is quite upsetting for certain co-workers.

Voting for this to be looked into, hopefully soon.
