Include detailed report for skipped items during PST import
I was referred to the uservoice by the office community
Is it possible to identify the skipped and failed items during a pst import job. The log file is vague and only specifies that an item has been skipped. I tried using the get-mailboximportrequeststatistics cmd-let but this also only specifies the quantity and does not identify the specific items that were skipped.
We have performed a network upload to import our orginizations PST files to Office 365. See the following support article (Use network upload to import your organization's PST files to Office 365) - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/use-network-upload-to-import-your-organization-s-pst-files-to-office-365-103f940c-0468-4e1a-b527-cc8ad13a5ea6
We need to identify the subject of the specific skipped items. Similiar to how during a migration you can use the below idenitfy a the specific items.
Get-MigrationUserStatistics <Identity> -IncludeReport | FL Skip,Error,Report
The post import report in this tut (http://blog.novotips.com/2016/03/office-365-unencrypted-pst-file-upload-feature/) clearly shows that you could download a skipped items report. I do not see this in Office 365.
Any help will be greatly appreaciated.
This is well and truly needed. How are we supposed to remove PST files in the environment when we can't get a report of the items that fail during the import.
Senior staff will not allow us to remove PST files as there is no easy way to identify what we lost during import.
Fix it MS, we used to have the available until moving to the Compliance portal.
Same problem. It is ludicrous that it skipped a number of messages and can tell you exactly how many but can't tell you which ones or why. If I import PSTs that contains 10k messages, how am I supposed to tell my user that I don't know what information they are going be missing?
How could this not included in the new UI in security & compliance? In the old way, there is an option to get it but no longer exist! The completed details log/lin only shows the same data in UI, like what freak? Please Microsoft, have this working with your DEVS!!!

+1. Exactly the same situation as Mr. Jenkins describes.
would be nice to get a detailed report in case of skipped files or errors in general

I have to agree. I would also like to see the error messages improved. I had an import job say it completed with Skipped items, but the large Items Skipped (Corrupted), Items Skipped (Large), and Items Skipped (Other) were all Zero. I even had a ticket with Exchange Only Support and sent them the export from the PowerShell command and they were not able to provide context for why the import completed with errors or while the estimated items to transfer and the actual count of items transferred were so far apart.
