OneDrive for Business client needs to be able to automatically update client when UPN changes
Scenario, business segments are converging and we need to update 10K users email domains. Our strategy is to keep email and UPN the same so we require to change the UPN from a federated to a federated domain. One drive for bussiness client can not update regkey HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive\Accounts\Business1 with the new email address. Currently requires either manual edit of regkey or onedrive reconfiguration which would than initiate a full download of all data.

User clicks "Unlink this PC" in OneDrive sync client (will leave files on c-drive) , then OneDrive will prompt for new login. Add new UPN and click Sign In, point to same subdirectory, and you are good to go. No major re-sync needed.

This is a big problem here as well for about 8K users. MS really needs to look at UPN changes in OneDrive and Project Online.
I would further suggest that we have the option to Unlink the OneDrive URL from the UPN. We are about to start a project where 1000+ users UPNs are going to change and that is going to cause a severe user inconvenience.
Not only lose de sync with OneDrive. With OneNote online is the same problem. Please, dont delete my publications.

this is highly frustrating especially when you have to rebrand an entire location. Its one thing to have to worry about rebuilding a large group of users Outlook Clients. Now we have to worry about rebuild a OneDrive Sync Client. This could negatively impact a sites network having to re-download all the OneDrive files on top of giving the local IT a lot of unneeded work.
