Allow OneDrive and SharePoint to share files with anyone / any email
Very frustrating that I need to use DropBox still to share files with outside parties that I want to share folders with. The reason the MS agent gave me was it was to help keep my documents safe. I don't need a nanny, I want to share and manage my files with whomever I want withouth having people sign up for Microsoft...exactly like DropBox. Please and thank you.

This external file sharing is currently available now with OneDrive for Business [as of December, 2017], but the OneDrive Android application (version 5.1) does not have the same file sharing ability which the website (OneDrive for Business, or MicrosoftOnline.com) provides.
Within the mobile app, users can currently only share files (and folders) with contacts within their own organization, choosing either read-only or view-and-edit permissions. This (2 out of 4 options) is twice as limited as the web browser version of OneDrive.
The method for sharing files with external contacts involves the generation of either a long URL or a tiny URL, which can be used by any external user without requiring a login. The permissions associated with that URL can also be selected, for either view-only permissions (also suitable for downloading the file) or for editing permissions.
Since this feature is already available within MicrosoftOnline.com, I see no reason for why it should not also be included within the mobile application.
