Allow the online archive to auto map for shared mailbox
Create a CmdLet to switch On or Off visibility of the Online Archive for Shared Mailboxes in the Outlook client, when Users are given access via Security Group.
At the moment the only way Users will get an Online Archive for a Shared Mailbox is if they are explicitly added to the permissions of a mailbox. Or access the Shared mailbox via the Outlook Web App.
If you are given Full Mailbox access to a Shared Mailbox by being a member of a Security Group, the Online Archive will not be displayed when the Shared mailbox is attached to the Outlook profile.
This only occurs when you use Explicit Full Access membership.
I would like this. If not possible it would be nice to have an explanation to why it is not possible.

Would be a highly appreciated feature to be able to control the visibility of the online archive...!
Please add this feature. It takes a lot of work to add each person to the shared mailbox for the servicedesk support. When full rights are given the archive mailbox should always be automatically mapped.
Yes. I would like to have the feature ,but for a different reason. It would be useful for the user to see the auto-mapped mailbox, but not the archive. Currently this is not possible.
When auto-mapping is enabled, the mailbox and archive are added to the Outlook folder tree. In most cases, you only need the mailbox, and not the archive. In addition, when an archive is in the folder tree, Outlook establishes additional connections to 365 (for the archive). If a user (for example, a secretary / assistant) has 3-5 accounts that are auto-mapped, Outlook creates twice more connections (to additional mailboxes) than necessary. Then, MS support says that in order for folders to sync properly and calendar items to update quickly, you need to reduce the number of connections.
Auto-mapping is the default behavior when adding full permissions, and it is wise for the user to automatically receive the necessary mailboxes when he/she is changes the computer, instead of adding mailboxes manually in the profile. There are many cases when an archive is not required to be displayed, as well as unnecessary connections to the throttled service.

Completely agree. Need more controls on what can be visible to users and what not.
I agree to this. People don't need more things in their outlook to trip over!
