Send Office 365 Password Expiry Reminder Email Notification
Office 365 as of right now doesn't have a feature that enables users to get notified if their passwords are on the verge of getting expired. I know there's a notification that appears, but our organization needs the email notifications. If you guys can help us out it would really appreciated.
- Mobile users need an email notification or pop-up.
- Send multiple emails e.g. 2 weeks before expiry and 2 days before
Thank you to everyone taking the time to vote on this ask. Our security best practices recommend not making passwords expire and our focus is around this policy at the moment. You can read more about it in these two documents:

Yes. This feature would be very much helpful to get the users notified in advance about expiry of their O365 account password.

21st century mobile 'heavy' environment, who uses Outlook web portal to accomplish anything? Surprised this functionality has to be requested (or begged for more like)
This would be very very helpful.
need email notification for office365 users password expire
Please add this capability - Many users access Office365 email by Smartphone only.
Very important feature. Please add it asap.

This is critical for me! I have users all over, many of whom are doctors and have things change mid-shift, and they can't access important information. Most users don't access their office 365 account through the portal, they only use it through the apps on their phones and workstations.
Can we please a way to send a system generated email to users about when their Office 365 password is going to expire?
PLEASE implement this feature request. The Outlook for Mac 2016 client does not reliably notify our users that their Office 365 password are expiring.

Frequently, when we get reports from users that they can't access their Office 365 account, this is because their password has expired.
Our user base use a variety of methods to access Office 365 including exclusively on mobile devices, Mac Mail, etc.
We really need to see a standardised alert mechanism so that users on ALL devices receive a warning that their password is due to expire.
It seems that the simplest way to do this would be to email the user directly, say 7 days before their password expires.
This is a solutions that most cloud platforms offer out of the box sort of speak. This needs to be added ASAP.
@Greg- The AD PowerShell script works great for on premise and hybrid environments. This also assumes there is one in place.
This is something that needs to be implemented because it would help not only the large but the small customers as well.

The current workaround is a PowerShell script that might not be appropriate for large enterprise environments. This needs to be a baked-in feature.
This would be helpful.

It's difficult to believe that this wasn't a part of the original release. I mean, most users are going to be using a client, not the OWA, so they'll never even see the notification.
Please add this feature.

Get it done MS.

There currently doesn't seem to be a way to know that your password is about to expire from desktop outlook.
Agreed. The message should go out as email as well, and preferably more than once.
Agree. This seems like a pretty basic feature
