Display only relative information
Whenever a 3rd party vendor is used, there is no need to display upgrade information if it is not relative to the user's configuration. For example - On the dashboard, it displayed Directory sync client version - Upgrade to the latest version of Azure AD Connect. But we are not using DirSync, but a Microsoft partner implementation. Instead the vendor's name or details could be display, as this is available within the admin center - indicating another tool was being used for AD syncing, and no action is required. 0365 Administrators would otherwise think that they would have to action this message - hence its a false positive and would waste time.
