Provide external user access to shared mailbox created inside the organization
There should be option to provide external user access to shared mailbox.
Currently only internal user with license have access to shared mailbox. But there should be option such that external users can be added as member of shared mailbox created inside the organization since shared mailbox have feasibility to co-ordinate with external domain.

Several of our customers would like to have this option made possible.

Create distribution list (make accessible to external email) and use the email address you would have used for the shared mailbox. Now add the shared mailbox email address to the distribution list. The shared mailbox now receives mail from outside the company.

In particular, you should allow an external/guest user to be given the 'send as' and 'send on behalf of' permission for a shared mailbox. This permits trusted third parties to operate the mailbox. This is necessary in the case where an organisation operates multiple brands ... the same people are responding to contact@brand1.example.com and contact@brand2.example.com. Because a shared-mailbox will not permit a 'send as' or 'send on behalf of' to an *alias* of the domain, each brand must be in its own Tenant (which makes sense, sort of). But we really don't need or want the people operating the contact@... mailboxes to have a separate USER IDENTITY in each case. (Nor really a separate licence ... but that's another matter).

Since Mailbox on SharePoint on-line has gone away we need a way for External users to access an O365 group shared mailbox that is tied to a SharePoint site. External users can access a SharePoint site but without access to the shared mailbox collaboration is limited.

We were able to forward the shared email to an outside address. In this case it is a neutral 3rd party that provides financial accountability for our non-profit.
In the shared mail box look at Email forwarding.
We also went into Admin Centers/Exchange (at the bottom of my admin page list - scroll down and click the \/) and white listed the external address. Protection/Spam Filter/Default(double-click - I did not expect a double-click). Add the external email address with no space or punctuation.
I did this using a MS support phone call-back.

If you can't do this, please allow for internal mailbox to be forwarded to more than one external account... We are a volunteer organization and have a role with 3 volunteers (high-turnover). We don't want to create internal mailboxes for each of these people so either have external users added to shared mailbox OR allow emails to be forwarded to more than one external account. Thanks
