Report Reader Role
Have a reporting admin role that can view all reports but does not have admin access to be able to be able to modify exchange, sharepoint etc. This would be a great role for CTO's or other top level management that don't need configuration rights.

The current Reports Reader role while appreciated, does not meet our needs. Additional rights have to be granted in both Exchange and the Security & Compliance center to pull the reports. Additionally, I was notified by Microsoft Support that users are required to have change access for Data Loss Prevention policies for the reports to successfully pull. The ideal state would be a customized role like Reports Reader, that automatically assigns the Read Only rights required to view the reports.

This would prove to be a useful for management outside of IT.

I've recently assigned the "reports reader" role to a user (this was the only customized role); the user had access to more than just the reports such as Billing, Users, etc on the OAC. Would you clarify which options in the OAC the "reports reader" role should have access?

Excellent news that this has been implemented as part of adding Teams statistics to the Usage reports, although it is not visible for our tenant yet: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/New-usage-reports-for-Microsoft-Teams/ba-p/132614
Will this also include the ability to assign this role specific reports, or will it be "all or nothing" at this point in time?

The reader role gives far too much detail to a lay person who just needs to access say Yammer reports. Can it not be reading at its purest form and assigned by app or stats anonymous for analysis rather then the Admin level detail?

Definitely a must have role. Please implement asap as the SharePoint admin role gives too much power. There is a role like this for eDiscovery and case management so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Please please can we have a separate admin role to view reports! I don't understand why this isn't possible

Agree with the other comments. Executives within the ICT department and Managers within the business are requesting access to reports. The only current option is to procure a third-party Office 365 reporting services (eg. Cogmotive Note: Not affiliated).

We would like to see that in the future as it will support customers with a detailed rights management. Furthermore we would not need to grant configuration roles for single and easy reporting. Thumb up.

We have over 100.000 Office 365 users in BASF and need reports without fully admin rights on the tenant.

As we split our O365 in different services this feature is highly recommended by BASF

This is a "must have" function since only the account administrative has access to the reports

Great feedback and a very important component to simplify access to reports. Please consider this as a critical requirement!
