  1. Sharing a calendar using a distribution group should auto-expand the group members

In Outlook if an end-user attempts to share a calendar and adds a distribution group it will fail citing "policy does not allow granting permissions at this level". The error message--although technically accurate--doesn't mean much to an end-user.

I would suggest that if the user selects a distribution group then it should be auto-expanded in the dialog box. The underlying code then may iteratively permission at the recipient level as expected.

  2. Storage quota email alerts default

Currently, on site collections, I need to manually set the email alerts on storage quota and resource quota. It would be nice to have an option to default this setting to on and to set a certain percentage.

  3. Ordering clarification for Nonprofits

The information on your ordering page should be more clear for Nonprofits. There's little difference b/t Proplus (https://products.office.com/en-us/business/office-365-proplus-business-software) and Business Premium (https://products.office.com/en-us/nonprofit/office-365-nonprofit-plans-and-pricing) and when you click to 'learn more' it doesn't show Nonprofit-specific information.

  4. Synchronizing of Custom Active Directory Attributes to Custom User Profile Properties in SharePoint Online

I have a custom solution for this that seems viable (see below), However my client would like to be able to do this OOTB if at all possible. Making this possible through a future iteration of DirSync, or its successors, AADSS, AAD Connect, or some other tool would be helpful. This way we're not required to enter it more than once.

    Custom Approach:

Thanks for your feedback! Your idea sounds interesting, but we need more information:

We are certainly thinking about extensible user schema across Office365 suite, and trying to figure out which attribute mappings make sense. We’d love to know more about the scenario you have – Why did your customer chose to use AD custom attributes over User Profile attributes in SharePoint?

  5. Infopath

Infopath does not allow one to design a form and distribute it without buying an Infopath license for all users. This makes the application less useful for small organizations. Why not choose a path similar to Adobe Acrobat which allows a licensed user to create documents and distribute them to others without a license? This would essentially mean providing Infopath Filler for free.

  6. SharePoint Navigation Option

When using a Team site template the ability to use drop down menus for sub-sites is not readily available. One must first enable Publishing functions before the Navigation option appears in the admin features. Why is this not immediately available to the Team site template? This is such a useful feature, but hard to find as currently configured.

  7. SharePoint Save as a Template

The current limit for the size of a template is 50 MB. However, if you would like to save with content this limit essentially negates this option. Why not allow users to save with content not to exceed the users full storage limit which would allow for contents up to 50% of that limit?

  8. Room Policies

In our conference rooms we apply policies to the rooms as well as assign local Resource Delegates to manage out-of-policy meeting requests. This works great however within that policy it would be nice to be able to have Room Conflicts not be considered an Out-Of-Policy item. Currently if a room has an out of policy configuration even meeting requests where the room is already booked are considered out of policy and sent to the delegate for approval.

In the room configuration there are settings to enable or disable Conflicts however adjusting this setting does not change the way meeting conflicts…

  10. force update

I had an issue where a remote user was fired and their Office 365 password was changed immediately. Due to the cached tokens that are being used the employee was still able to log into their mailbox and subsequently able to forward several Outlook items to her personal mailbox. Obviously this is something that needs to be changed as it is a high security issue for businesses using Exchange Online. Some sort of force update option would be highly recommended. Whether it force updates all accounts or can be done on an account by account basis.

  11. Enable sent items rules

I currently have set up a number of inbox rules in O365 Exchange which move emails into Inbox subfolders according to who has sent them. This works fine.

I have attempted to setup similar rules for messages I send to recipients to move to Sent Items subfolders without success.

IMAP accounts on both Outlook for Mac 2011 and 2015 Preview clients work without a problem.

    Please introduce this functionality.

  12. Manage O365 app menu and service visibility centrally

We need to control when new services like Sway, Delve, Power BI, Video, etc. become visible to end-users in the App menu and in the portal.

Services hosted in US are illegal for many to use in EU, but if we turn them off they don't work but are still visible to end-users. This causes our service-desks to flood with incidents.

  13. Add "Select All" when creating distribution groups

We have 76 users, some with general names. I would ask that when we choose to add a member, that the list only show what accounts are left to choose; or let us select all users and then we can go through what was added and manually remove the general names. In our example we have an "All Staff" group, but do have a dozen accounts such as "Customer Service@domain.com". I need a quick way to ensure our whole company is covered without missing anyone.

  14. New Feature: Automatic Replies for an organization (for holidays etc.)

Today users can setup automatic replies which works great. It would come in handy though to have the ability to setup the same on a global scale for an organization for holiday(s) etc. Right now, this is something that we could use today as we are closed on Holiday(s) and would like to auto respond to our customers when we will be available to help them.

  15. Add Ability to Restore Email Aliases

We need the ability to restore email aliases. It is easy to accidentally erase all via PowerShell and the aliases are critically important.

  16. Allow Admins to Disable Clutter Notifications

Many of our users receive automatic system notifications suggesting that they enable the new Clutter feature. While this feature is valuable, we need to control the flow of information regarding features and usage of Office 365. We make announcements for things like this in accordance with our own training schedules so that we can provide the right guidance for our users. Please allow us to prevent these automated notifications for Clutter and for any features that may use these types of notifications in the future. Thanks!

  18. Out of Office / responder for distribution groups

Please add a simple way (enduser) to enable auto responders for distribution groups. At the moment it's only possible for mailboxes, which is too limited.

  19. Build out cross tenant "Trusts" like used within On-Prem Active Directory Domains

Within On-Prem Active Directory there is a "Trusted Domains" feature which allows you to set up various Trust levels.

With Office365 there should be a similar Trusts Model built in for other Office365 Tenants - this would massively help for universities and alike where there is a significant need to provide users that are classified as external to the organisation with access to files stored within SharePoint.

This also would ensure (forward thinking) that access would be securable to a user that has an account of a trusted outside organisation - which if disabled on their tenant would serve to…

  20. Redesign admin experience for small businesses

As a consultant, I support a number of small businesses who don't have any IT experience or staff. I've found that my O365 clients (in contrast to Google Apps or Dropbox clients) have a tremendous amount of difficulty with O365 administration. Part of the problem is that Microsoft exposes too much architectural complexity in the interface. Non-IT types don't want to deal with Sharepoint administration. They shouldn't have to run around the interface (and even Powershell) to clean up user accounts and metadata when external sharing fails.

They do want easy-to-understand help files that are up-to-date and interfaces that don't…
