  1. Maintain per user Read/Unread information on a Shared mailbox, as on PFs

As a shared mailbox is accessed from several users, it would be helpfull to have the option to maintain the Read/Unread information per user. This way, users would easily track "new" emails and will have a more "personal" view of shared mailbox Inbox.
Further more, if the information about the shared mailbox members who Read a msg is available, it would help shared mailbox team to follow up cases.

  2. Cached shared mailbox - cannot search

When searching on a cached shared mailbox in Outlook 2016 no results are returned unless selecting the current folder option.

If cached mode is turned off for the shared mailbox search is more accurate but performance is far slower.

We need the search in cached mode for shared mailbox to be fixed. It works in cached mode for individual user mailbox

  3. Restricting end-users from releasing quarantined emails

I think giving end-users the ability to see whats in their quarantine but not being able to release them would be a massive security improvement as the administrator cannot monitor all emails within the host quarantine and we cannot trust end-users to know what to release

  4. Add a guest mail user to Distribution group

    Please add the following function;
In the same way as the contacts are created as "guest mail user" when an e-mail address outside of my organization is added to "Office365 group", It will be possible for ordinary users to add the address outside of my organization as a member by entering it from the 'membership' screen in 'Distribution groups' as well.
Also in that case contacts will be created as "guest mail user".

  5. Login Notifications

We'd like for users to be able to receive login notifications if a login occurs from a new device on their account. It'd be a fast way for users to know if someone has unauthorized access their account.

Google has a feature where if someone logs into your gmail it will tell you when and where the login occurred from and the device that logged in. You can also review all of the trusted devices for your account as well.

  6. Disable imap and pop3 by default

I'd like to be able to set that the default for IMAP and POP is disabled. From there we can turn on these features per mailbox as required

  7. Don't deprecate Search-Mailbox in EXO

"Note : In cloud-based environments, the Search-Mailbox cmdlet is being deprecated in favor of New-ComplianceSearch"

Replacing the capability of Search-Mailbox with the new ComplianceSearch and ComplianceSearchActions cmds is a terrible user experience and moves a single step process to a multi-step process with manual intervention. If this functionality is to go away for good, this will severely hinder our ability to execute requests in a timely and efficient manner.

I would argue that these are different use cases and can easily co-exist in the tenant.

O365 is supposed to be in the business of streamlining processes with efficiency, not convoluting…

  8. Include detailed report for skipped items during PST import

I was referred to the uservoice by the office community

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msofficeo365admin-msosecurity-mso_o365b/identify-skipped-and-failed-items-during-pst/e2c4c2da-bab3-49d1-bad1-dc9bb6f18d5e

Is it possible to identify the skipped and failed items during a pst import job. The log file is vague and only specifies that an item has been skipped. I tried using the get-mailboximportrequeststatistics cmd-let but this also only specifies the quantity and does not identify the specific items that were skipped.
We have performed a network upload to import our orginizations PST files to Office 365. See the following support article (Use network upload to import your organization's PST files to Office 365) - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/use-network-upload-to-import-your-organization-s-pst-files-to-office-365-103f940c-0468-4e1a-b527-cc8ad13a5ea6

  9. Prevent users connecting to Office 365 personal accounts

We use Office 365 Business Premium at work. In order to provide access.

As part of this, we have had to blow huge holes in our firewall / proxy / filter (as per approved list), to allow the browser connections to the portal and Outlook connections to the Exchange Server.

We do of course want to allow connections to these for Company purposes, but now there is no apparent way to prevent access to the same servers for personal access to e.g. outlook.com.

We are a small company, so don't have the inclination / resources to run our own on-premises…

  10. Enable Auto mapping against mail enabled security groups for shared mailboxes

Automapping is a great feature that helps from an organizational change standpoint and a great way to educate end-users instead of letting a less tech savvy end user to follow a guide lines on how to manually add shared mailboxes to their Outlook.

Can we have the same work against a security group where in ALL the Members in the security Groups leveraged this where a Shared Mailbox is being accessed by entire department at times which will ease out and a better experience and can be a great O365 feature which will have a wider acceptance from end users…

  11. Set Auto-mapping to Disabled by default

With Auto-mapping set to Enabled by default, it makes it more difficult for us to manage our mailboxes.
While some staff have full access permissions to a mailbox, we do not want it automatically being added to their Outlook, and downloading straight away.
Some staff only need to access this via the Webmail.

What I would like to see is:
    a) The ability to set auto-mapping to disabled by default,
    b) The ability to disable auto-mapping on multiple/all accounts at once, or
    c) At the minimum, the ability to disable automapping per mailbox through the GUI (for those like myself…

  12. Azure AD Connect - sync Contact objects including their external SIP address (to add Skype for Bus. federated contacts to O365 Directory)

Currently Azure AD Connect does not add a Contact object's SIP address (synchronized from on-premise) to the EmailAddresses attribute in Office 365 if it is an external SIP domain. We would like to populate this SIP address to the Office 365 Directory so we can see the Contact's presence and automatically connect (IM) with these Contacts using Skype for Business. These are federated SIP domains.

Right now the EmailAddresses atribute only gets synced and populated with the SIP address if the SIP domain is registered as an internal domain in Office 365. It seems logical to add the SIP address…

  13. eDiscovery export broken when multifactor is enabled

When you enabled Multifactor Authentication on an account, it breaks the ability to export eDiscovery queries to PST via the export tool. I have confirmed this both in testing, and via a support ticket with MS. Please fix this. For security we want our admins enabled for MFA, but this hinders their ability to perform their jobs.

  14. Custom email rate limit for education

Request is for admins to be able to customize the daily 10k email rate limit per user to a much smaller number. In education, there is no use case where a student would have the need to send this many messages. We are constantly fighting the phishing battle with compromised accounts. Those compromised accounts send 10k messages to other internal users, of which several more get compromised. We would like to be able to set smaller "throttling" or "rate limit" policies for a sub population in our tenant.

  15. New-DistributionGroup - Allow redirection of informationaction

Presently in the Exchange Online Cmdlets when you create a New-DistributionGroup the following message appears.

"New! Office 365 Groups are the next generation of distribution lists.
Groups give teams shared tools for collaborating using email, files, a calendar, and more.
You can start right away using the New-UnifiedGroup cmdlet."

This is an "Informational" message from the PowerShell Cmdlet which does not redirect as would be the normal behaviour in PowerShell using the -informationaction parameter.

Please either alter this as a "WarningAction" which can be trapped or expose the InformationAction via the Cmdlet.

Presently if you leverage -informationaction you receive the…

  16. Allow reliable synchronisation of on premise thumbnail photos to the cloud where one way sync and dirsync are used by organisations.

Following unsuccessful premier call and forum investigation into synchronisation of a users thumbnailPhoto attribute from on premise AD via Dirsync to the O365 we have been advised that it does not sync reliably and this is currently by design. The workaround offered is to push users images up with a Set-UserPhoto cmdlet and while this works its not a sustainable support method where organisations have many thousands of users.
We strongly feel that this attribute sync should quite simply work as it does with all the other user attributes. It would allow the users to self service their photos via…

  17. Allow option in Exchange online to hide Distribution List members from viewing to users

There should be an option in Exchange online to hide Distribution List members from viewing to users as this capability is available in On Premises Exchange through Active Directory (by going into Distribution List property > Attribute Editor > HideDLMemberShip > True

  18. Remove 10 KB thumbnailPhoto limit Exchange Online

When syncing pictures using dirsync from your AD to Office 365 there is a 10 KB limit for exchange online, while AD has a 100KB limit. So pictures >10KB will not show up in your mails. You can work around this using a powershell command Set-UserPhoto that makes u put up pictures of max 500KB. A 10 KB limit in 2016... really? This should all be the same across all technologies.

I would suggest changing the limit in Exchange Online to 100KB the same as AD this would help a lot of people out.

  19. converting sync with ad users to In Cloud User

A week back, I was able to convert my AD sync users to In Cloud user by simply moving that user from the Local AD OU that was configured to sync the users to Office365 to some other OU. After next Azure AD Connect synchronization, that user account was marked as deleted @ Office365 and moved to Deleted User. I then restore that user @ Office365 and after some time it change to In-Cloud user. I will then replace the old user information / email addresses with the new user @ Office365.

I also perform the same changes in my…

Allow redirect rules to work even if forwarding is enabled in the Inbox Rules and vice versa.

If your redirection is set to Store and Forward, then the copy of the messages that is still delivered to the mailbox will have Inbox Rules applied to it.

Redirection happens before Inbox Rules are applied so if redirection is set to Forward only, Inbox Rules will not be applied. This is by design and not something we will consider changing at this time.
