  1. Support conversion to shared mailbox for synced users

Currently a mailbox for a synced user can be converted to shared in EAC. This results in a corrupted mailbox object and an Azure AD object that still requires a license. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2710029. Customers need to move the mailbox to on-premises Exchange, convert it to shared and then move the mailbox back to Exchange Online. This process can be cumbersome and even worse, if customer is not aware of this issue the shared mailbox will be removed after the grace period expires.

It should be supported to convert a mailbox to shared for a synced user in Exchange Online,…

  2. Disable Automapping for Mailboxes from Admin Center

Proposal: Have the option through GUI to disable automapping for inboxes, and/or certain individuals that have permission to that inbox.

Explanation: When you assign permissions for someone to a particular inbox (including shared) it automatically adds the mailbox to their Outlook profile - this has caused us issues. While it can be disabled through PowerShell, it's very tedious to go through and remove each user and then add each user to every inbox with automapping disabled.

  3. Implement email address policy

On-premises Exchange had Email Address Policies which allowed administrators to define the email addresses (SMTP:alias@domain1.com,smtp:firstname@domain2.com) that would automatically be added to mailboxes.

Office 365 desperately needs this functionality so we don't have to resort to over complicated PowerShell scripts.

  4. Expand Email Activity Report to Include Shared Mailboxes

Currently, the Email Activity Report only presents data for user mailboxes. Expanding this report so that it could include shared mailbox types would be great, as we use shared mailboxes for "contact us" and "support@" mailboxes for may of our customers. Being able to show email volume for these mailboxes over specific date / time ranges would be a great help!

  5. Configure Preferences for Report Message Add-In

The Report Message Add-In can be deployed centrally but there should be a method to control the settings/preferences in it centrally. For example, set the default option for reporting preference (e.g. always send, never send, ask every time). This should be configurable somewhere (e.g. registry key, GPO, Centralized Deployment manager, Exchange Online policy, etc. The default to ask every time is not the setting we want for our organization, but there is no way currently to reconfigure the default. Please reconsider this.

  6. Dynamic distribution group based on domain

It seems impossible to create a DDL based on the domain name, because the recipient filter does not accept wildcard at first position in the -like condition.

  7. Create new Remote Shared Mailboxes from hybrid

Allow the creation of new remote mailboxes that are 'shared' mailboxes. At present, you have to create a regular user mailbox and then after you have synchronized this to Office 365, you then have to login to the 365 admin portal and convert it to shared. The problem with this method is that the user object on premises will always be shown as an office 365 mailbox and not an office 365 shared mailbox. Just a bit messy.

  9. Backup the exchange mailboxes! There is no exchange backup in office365.

When a number of "user created" exchange folders were hard deleted by mistake, we opened a premier case - 116120615030507. To make a long story short, we found out that there is no exchange backup of the exchange mailboxes in this case. If items are accidentally hard deleted by the customer, there is no recovery of the mailbox. This is a worse situation than we had on premise, where we could restore mailboxes.

Accidents happen, nobody is flawless and and you have to be able to restore from backup. We actually had to use a combination of mfc mapi and…

  10. Block users to change the password

    Dears,

I come across this message prompts enable resource for previunir / block user to the password change your e-mail account. We migrated a solution to the cloud and it had these options. Another thing that I see in the product is denying changing account information.

    We need it very urgently.

  11. Remove case sensitive searches for shared mailboxes and permissions

Over the last month or so case sensitive searches have been added into the shared mailbox and permissions sections on the Office 365 admin page. Could these be reverted back or was there a reason for case sensitive searches being added?

I had weeks of no results coming back until I spoke to Microsoft Support who also have the issue and they noticed it is now case sensitive.

  12. Check if Automapping is enabled on a shared mailbox for all users or a particular user

It is easy to enable/disable automapping but it would be nice to see the current state of automapping for shared mailboxes for all users or a particular user

  13. Support a Catch All email address

Looking to get a catch all email address feature. When we were with godaddy, they had this feature to catch all emails. Example, if email is addressed to richie@domain.com, it was misspelled by the sender and typed in richee@domain.com, we want it to go in to catchall@domain.com. Of info and the typed ifno@domain.com, we wan to retain that to our catchall@domain.com email address.

    Thank you.

    Hi all,

We are investigating whether to implement this feature. As mentioned previously, this can be accomplished with a mail flow rule.

We wanted to here from you and have set up an email address to get your feedback instead of having you publicly post them in the comments section.

There is the risk that catch-alls will be turned on by organizations and just become a spam trap that is never looked at but using up large amounts of resources that affect our ability to provide fair use across the service. We are looking for the best solution to meet your needs and still protect our service.

    Here are a few questions:
    1. What is the type/size of your organization?

    2. Why do you want a catch all address?
Is it for just misaddressed emails or emails to common addresses like postmaster@contoso.com that you do not have a mailbox for?…

  14. Allow read only access to Office 365 portal Control Panel

Please provide read only access feature for O365 Admin center

  15. Enable Transport Rule action for Distribution Group

In Exchange Online or EOP, We cannot create a transport rule with the action set to Distribution Group.

    It errors as follows :

The transport rule can't be created because group@domain.com, the recipient to be added by a rule action, is a distribution group. Transport rules can't add distribution groups to messages. To resolve this error, remove this recipient and specify a different one.

Since there are workarounds to resolve, Can this be fixed directly without any error.

  16. Exchange Online PowerShell Module - Publish to PowerShell Gallery as an actual function

Please publish the Exchange Online PowerShell Module used for MFA to the PowerShell Gallery (www.powershellgallery.com) to allow for easier installation.

The clickOnce installer is a bit of a non-standard installation for most people used to working with standard PowerShell modules.

  17. Allow Custom Branding for multiple domains in one tenant

You are allowed to add a brand logo to the login page of the tenant. But what if you have 3 brands in the tenant? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/customize-branding

Login page asks if I want to use a Microsoft or Office/School account. Why can't that be expanded to recognize the domain you log in with and redirect the use to a custom branding page?

  19. Demand to create an alert event such as "Failed user login"

    Hi,

We would like to ask a demand to create an alert event such as "Failed user login".

At the moment, you can't create such an alert activity as this because such a category/event doesn't exist in the list. This point has been confirmed to us by O365 support.
The only way to see such an event is throufgh the security and compliance center by auditing an account manually.

In circumtances such as brute force attack or attempt to hack an account, it will be extremely useful for an admin to receive such an information to take appropriate action.

    Thank…

  20. Exchange ActiveSync quarantine should include the (public) IP address the mobile was quarantined from

This would make it easier for an administrator to know it the mobile is in the hand of a legitimate user before approval.
