  1. Support for Dynamic '+' Email Aliases in Office 365

    Hello,

I am familiar with using a plus sign following my email alias to create dynamic unique addresses for a Gmail account. e.g. test.email+signedup@gmail.com will arrive at my Gmail mailbox, where I can then apply rules based on the 'To:' address. See this page for details: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370

I tested this on my Office 365 address and it works, but only for email addresses in my parent domain. Using the aliases on subdomain addresses results in a 'recipient not found' NDR.

Does anyone out there have more information on this feature or if it even is one for 365 / Exchange?

We announced at Ignite that we are actively working on bringing dynamic plus aliases to Office 365.
To get around existing usage, the plan is for an opt-in setting. Our ETA is to have this available for all customers by the third quarter of 2020.
I will keep you updated in Uservoice on our progress.

  3. allow the ability to merge 365 accounts seamlessly

Allow two 365 accounts to be merged without having to rebuild email accounts, move files etc... just move the domain from one 365 account to another after proper verification -- or even by just calling Microsoft support

Thank you for your responses. We appreciate that you’ve taken the time to provide us with feedback to help make our products better.

We’re actively working on significant improvements to the end user experience with the feature across Outlook clients. This includes improvements to the UX, the classification algorithms, and controls.

Today, admins have a Power-Shell cmdlet that allows them to control the Clutter feature on a per mailbox level. Details of this can be found here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt586787%28v=exchg.160%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

Our decision to provide the cmdlet based control for Clutter was based on early feedback we received on the Clutter feature.

We will continue to improve the admin controls based on the continued feedback. Considering the responses on this forum, it would be helpful to better understand the gaps in the current admin control story. Do you believe the gap here is in not having a tenant level control or not having…

  6. View Current Automapping setting

Currently there is no way to view whether Automapping of a mailbox is enabled or disabled in office 365. It would be nice to be able to view this value in either powershell or the GUI.

Additionally it would be nice to be able to turn automapping on or off via the EMC instead of only powershell.

  7. Provide a powershell interface from admin area - so you can use powershell directly from the portal page.

Having this ability to run PowerShell directly will remove the need to connect from on-premises to perform PowerShell tasks. This will also help 100% Mac shops - which cannot run PowerShell at all.

  9. Allow to see private emails in shared mailboxes in outlook (in OWA you can see them)

    Short:

On shared mailboxes in office 365 emails that are flagged by the sender as private are hidden. In OWA they are visible.

    Long:

Users having full access to the shared mailbox do not see emails sent with a private flag - and they do not get informed about it. The emails are just silently hidden by outlook without any further notice. Quite stupid, for a shared mailbox (e.g. incoming orders!)

We discovered that by coincidence: Our users were concerned because the number of unread emails was increasing - although there were no unread emails visible for them.

    If they…

  10. Billing Notifications vs. Global Admins

Any Global Admin automatically gets our Billing Statements. Why is this so rigid? I would like to be able to add an email address to the Billing Notifications, say, "Accounts Payable@ domain.com" but I don't want the Accounting department here to be a Global Admin in Exchange.

By the same token, I might have outside consultants that I want to be Global Admins, but I don't need them getting our billing statements.

  12. Delegated Admin (Partner) able to convert tennant mailbox to shared.

Currently there is an issue with permissions if you use the partner delegated admin to convert a user to a shared mailbox. You must log into the tenant as a global admin in order to accomplish this.

As a delegated admin we should be able to manipulate mailboxes as needed to ensure an enjoyable client experience.

  13. Allow admins to turn off likes and @mention - PLEASE!

Once again, OWA has new 'features' added which are causing problems - particularly in a School environment such as ours. Likes and @mentions are flying about the system - teachers email a group of students who click the 'like' button and the teacher then gets loads of pings back which they have to deal with! Obviously, this could be useful but PLEASE release an admin UI for the control panel when you add these features so we can CHOOSE whether to let users have these features!

  14. Increase 30 messages per minute limit

The 30 message per minute limit causes problems for software that needs to send out to many users. Now that we've migrated to Exchange Online our payroll system can no longer send out payslips because of this feature. Very limiting and a very low limit. It should at least be able to be configured to allow accounts to be exempted or have different limits.

The limit you are talking about protects against large volume senders overwhelming the shared resources of our service and ensures emails are not all sent out at once for automated systems. Can you please tell us more about the problems this causes to the software that queueing and retries are not able to handle?

  15. Support conversion to shared mailbox for synced users

Currently a mailbox for a synced user can be converted to shared in EAC. This results in a corrupted mailbox object and an Azure AD object that still requires a license. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2710029. Customers need to move the mailbox to on-premises Exchange, convert it to shared and then move the mailbox back to Exchange Online. This process can be cumbersome and even worse, if customer is not aware of this issue the shared mailbox will be removed after the grace period expires.

It should be supported to convert a mailbox to shared for a synced user in Exchange Online,…

  16. Deleting an item in a shared mailbox should move the item to the shared mailbox's deleted items

Today you have to use the regkey DelegateWastebasketStyle to control the behaviour when deleting items in a shard mailbox.

This should have a PowerShell command, just like for sent items (set-mailbox shared@contoso.com -MessageCopyForSentAsEnabled $True)

One of the companys i manage Office365 for has, no AD which means no GPO's to use with regkeys, no consistensy in Office versions and thus this gets unmanageble.

Please add a way for me to control this centrally in Exchange Online.

  17. Implement email address policy

On-premises Exchange had Email Address Policies which allowed administrators to define the email addresses (SMTP:alias@domain1.com,smtp:firstname@domain2.com) that would automatically be added to mailboxes.

Office 365 desperately needs this functionality so we don't have to resort to over complicated PowerShell scripts.

  18. Disable Automapping for Mailboxes from Admin Center

Proposal: Have the option through GUI to disable automapping for inboxes, and/or certain individuals that have permission to that inbox.

Explanation: When you assign permissions for someone to a particular inbox (including shared) it automatically adds the mailbox to their Outlook profile - this has caused us issues. While it can be disabled through PowerShell, it's very tedious to go through and remove each user and then add each user to every inbox with automapping disabled.

  19. Allow timezone change for message trace

Currently message trace timezone is set to UTC 0. This is really annoying. We should be able to change the timezone for this. There are posts on the forums going back to 2012 requesting this feature... please implement it.

  20. Configure Preferences for Report Message Add-In

The Report Message Add-In can be deployed centrally but there should be a method to control the settings/preferences in it centrally. For example, set the default option for reporting preference (e.g. always send, never send, ask every time). This should be configurable somewhere (e.g. registry key, GPO, Centralized Deployment manager, Exchange Online policy, etc. The default to ask every time is not the setting we want for our organization, but there is no way currently to reconfigure the default. Please reconsider this.
