Extend Delve beyond Microsoft using connectors
Currently, we use an enterprise search tool from a different vendor that indexes content from Sharepoint, Wordpress, Salesforce and Github. This unified search is nice, but the results are not as useful as what Delve provides.
Similar to the connectors feature provided in Teams, Delve should support third party (and custom) connectors that allows it to ingest contents from other popular tools. This should also allow for the ability to build custom connectors that developers can use to integrate content from custom sources into Delve.

One needs to be able to include other content that resides on-premises. The old ability of aggregating the user profile via BDC was very valuable. It would be nice to integrate that profile data into a board in Delve. For our specific scenario, the database could be moved to Azure if that would help overcome any obstacles.

MSFT provides a 'cloud search service application' which runs on Sharepoint server. It crawls external content sources and sends the index files to O365 so they can be searched from Delve and/or SPO. 3rd party connectors are available.

See my earlier comment. It would be great to extend Delve to LinkedIn and other sources as suggested above.
