  1. Change to Bing Search for ProPlus should be opt-in only

    This is a bad idea as a default setting and should be opt-in only. As it is, we're going to be blocking this everywhere we can so that we don't get flooded with service requests asking us to change their search back.

    We are working on deploying the new Edge for users who want to use Bing, but PLEASE don't touch Chrome.

  2. Thunderbird Error Sending Emails

    It is outrageous that it is impossible to send emails through O365 SMTP from Mozilla Thunderbird. I have just spent about 35 minutes with MS customer support. They reproduced the problem: once you try to send emails from thunderbird with correct O365 SMTP settings, the connection never succeeds and ultimately times out. We are paying O365 substantial amounts, and these incompatibilities should be in MS's interests to address asap. The problem appears to have begun with a MS Windows update in January, and it has been lasting for months now. Sending emails through other email providers, such as GMAIL or…

  3. Problem using SMTP Authentication to send email using a PHP Mail 1.4.1 client

    I follow the documentation here (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/How-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-Office-365-69f58e99-c550-4274-ad18-c805d654b4c4) and the email is successfully sent out. However, the item does not show up in the "Sent Items" folder for the mailbox. Here is the source code for sending out the email:

        $host = "smtp.office365.com";

    $username = $user->getEmail();
    $password = $user->getEmailPassword();

    $params = array ('host' => $host,
    'auth' => true,
    'username' => $username,
    'port' => 587,
    'password' => $password);

    // $this->smtp = Mail::factory('smtp', $params);

    $this->smtp = new Mail_smtp($params);
