Allow encrypted emails to be viewed in a shared mailbox, using Outlook
OME seems to currently be a poorly configured solution, we will continue to use Egress Switch Gateway, cos it just works!
OME needs this feature asap.
We have 30,000 users, and shared mailboxes are essential to the business, we cannot just convert them to user mailboxes.
We are having to look at 3rd party alternatives.
Still waiting for this solution. We have had to look at message labs to plug this Gap.
We need this very badly!
Please resolve this issue or at least provide a workaround other than converting to user mailbox
This is a critical function for us. We have 2500 users, and a lot of shared mailboxes.
Seems like this is becoming a headache now we have this rolled out for our users. will be a necessary feature very soon and will help consolidate down to a single encryption product in email.
Same here, very important for us to have encrypted email support to the people on shared inboxes.
Not allowing a group of users who have permission to read and send from a shared mailbox to view encrypted items within the mailbox is a serious oversight by Microsoft and has caused operational problems for our organisation. This is not good for what is presented as a business solution for a working practice which is nothing new. Other vendors are able to accommodate this requirement and have had to move a number of shared mailboxes back to our previous solution.
We are continuing to investigate, but it seems that if the user logs into the Outlook portal - as opposed to using the Outlook client - the authentication allows the user to view the item. But this is hardly an elegant or seamless solution and is not one we are keen to impose on our user-base.
C'mon Microsoft - can we have Encrypted item access for shared mailbox users, please?
We are deciding which email encryption solution to use and the lack of support for Shared Mailboxes will almost certainly mean that we will not be able to use OME.
As a bank, we have a number of departments that want to use shared mailboxes to mask individual employees. (i.e. correspond with customers as the department rather than an individual). Being able to view encrypted e-mail replies from customers in Outlook rather than having to jump out to OWA would be a major time saver in their workflow.
Seconded! We have an organisation that has to send referral documents to a team mailbox (in a separate organisation/O365 tenant) to be dealt with - in this instance we don't care who opens it, but it should be encrypted and anyone who has access to that shared mailbox needs to be able to open it.
This would be a huge win for O365. This is preventing our organization from using OME.
