SCA (Shared Computer Activation) for Mac
Support Mac computers to enable SCA (Shared Computer Activation).

Our lab users are loosing around 20% of functionality due to the fact they need to stay on Office 2019, this is functionality that we are paying for but cannot access!
Dan Bolton commented
This is a problem for us too. We have just under 800 shared Macs which are accessed by at least 6000 users but are available to all 17,000 users.

Millersville University just hit this as well. Hopefully, it's coming soon.
Yeah this would be great as we are already doing this with our.windows clients and it works well.
I tell a lie. September 22, 2015:
So, three and a half years and zilch.
It's quite ridiculous for Microsoft to force organizations to Office365 then tie their hands, and then procrastinating on giving them what they need in order to make it successful. I can find requests for SCA going back to mid-2016 (as well as Microsoft agents responding saying it will be "soon"). Three years later, there is still nothing. Even Adobe leapfrogged Microsoft on this - it took them a while (and they timed it terribly) but Shared Device License for Adobe Named User seats is now available. Meanwhile, Microsoft has delivered nothing. Mac users already feel like second-class citizens with Skype for Business. This is going to make it worse. People are going to get angry that all they want to do is use Office, and it's just complicated and frustrating, rather than as simple as it obviously should be.
Essentially, Microsoft, your entire primary licensing model is too immature to actually be consumed, but you're determined to ram it down people's throats in its half-baked form.

Yep, we're going to run into this very shortly here at UCalgary too!

We need this at the University of Manitoba as well!!!

Super important to us in K12! We need the activation to work the same as with Windows. Why would it be different anyway? I thought Microsoft was aiming for no differences on MacOS vs Windows for Office...
I thought MS claimed that Mac and Windows was now a common codebase. Unless that was a bald-faced lie, there is no reason this isn't happening.
Quit being lazy and do it
It's quite ridiculous that Microsoft refuses to do this on the one hand, and shoves everybody towards 365/cloud-everything on the other hand.
You're not making it even possible.

Another vote towards implementing this.
As an admin at a College with several Mac computer labs this is becoming more and more of an issue.
As an Apple Admin for K-12 with thousands of devices, all using the shared model. This is a major problem for us. The need for SCA to use O365 is a must for those of us using Volume Licensing currently on OfficeMac 2016.
Ted August commented
If Microsoft wants to encourage Colleges and Universities to use Office 365 rather than Office volume licensing, then a full implementation of SCA needs to exist for the Mac version of Office 365.

I would like to see this happen. I have at least 12 computers that are shared amongst 4 people each.
