Create option in teams to hide shared mailbox SMTP address from Corporate Global Address List
End users are not able to distinguish Teams Shared SMTP address versus Legit distribution group SMTP address, create option to 'hide' teams SMTP within corporate GAL.

We’re working on the ability to automatically hide Office 365 Groups created via Microsoft Teams from the Global Address List.

This is an immediate need, we have several shared mailboxes showing in teams and people are messaging them and wondering why no one is responding. Not a positive experience for newer Teams users.

Any word on the target date for this? BTW: there are more requests concerning this "issue". It would be great if this could be GUI implementation as well as a PowerShell command when creating SPO sites.

When is this feature looking at being implemented. It would also need to work the other way around as Anonymous said, to hide shared mailboxes from Teams chat.

Will this request also hide shared mailboxes from Teams chat receipients. We have users trying to chat with shared mailboxes that have nothing to do with Teams.
