Office 356 update from 1709 to 1710 broke Outlook autocomplete, personal contact lists from address book do not show in recent people list
We recently updated almost all our Office 356 desktop Apps users from build 1709 to 1710. After thisupdate Outlook autocomplete cache was deleted from all users computers, and it was replaced with a new Recent People drop down. This was easily repopulated once users started sending emails, except for one very important item. Users who created personal contact lists in their Contacts address book, are having an issue where even after sending to these lists (picked out of their address book) do not have them show in recent people list. Global distribution lists, Office 365 groups in the Default Global Address list, will populate Recent People drop down in the To: CC; and BCC: fields, but personal contact lists do not.
I called Office 365 support on this issue, and worked with them, and we confirmed the issue does not occur in version 1709, but does with 1710. Furthermore we discovered that once you set the Address Book options to check the Contacts first before the Global Address Book, you can type in the name of a personal contact list and click on Check Names, and it will find it and underline it in the To: CC: Bcc: fields just fine, but it still does not store it in the Recent People drop down list. Support could not find anyone else who reported this issue yet, and told me to post it here.
We always update to the latest version of the desktop apps, and we were told to roll back to 1709 to get the autocomplete functionality back. We want this bug fixed in the next update, all our users are complaining about it and rolling back versions is not a solution.
MICROSOFT A KABILLION DOLLAR COMPANY SCREWS THIS UP AND CAN'T FIX IT...GO FIGURE

disgraceful, I have tried and tried different solutions and even had remote desktop with microsoft help and they couldn't fix it, they told me it was a bug and autocomplete was never designed to work within Outlook!!!
Complete waste of time talking to them.

I lost all my auto complete email addresses too. Needs to be fixed.
Same issue with outlook autocomplete not working in Office 365 Version 1804. This started for me a few months ago, and I lived with it until I had time to diagnose. Not sure which version / update began the problem for me, but per the above, I rolled back to Office 365 Version 1709 using instructions here "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2770432/how-to-revert-to-an-earlier-version-of-office-2013-or-office-2016-clic", and the functionality returned.
Prior to rolling back, I had tried:
-Updating Outlook to most current version
-Running an Office 365 repair
-Deleted stream_autocomplete file and let Outlook recreate a fresh version that didn't work after allowing Outlook to add some new content from email tests
-Deleted roamcache and let office recreate the folder and tried with new content from email tests, created
-Tested a new Outlook profile
None worked. Outlook phone support was worthless, so I decided to roll back to 1709 and had success. Clearly a bug, but not easily diagnosed. I have an identical computer running the same version of Windows 10 and Office 365 Version 1804 but has other programs/drivers, and that computer did not experience this issue.

This appears to have been fixed in the latest 1710 Build 8625.2139 update. Now the personal contact groups are showing up in the auto complete cache, the recent people drop down list appears to have been reverted to the previous versions functionality, it no longer states recent people and you can no longer see pictures.

We did another update this week, but version is still 1710, build is now 8625.2127. Issue still exists. Could this be happening because personal contact groups / distribution lists do not have an email address? All items in the Recent People drop down which replaced Outlook Autocomplete Cache have email addresses. Outlook obviously still knows what the lists are because Check Names can find them. I's not sure why they will not populate the drop down though.
