Highlighted Content Web Part -> allow Multiple Filters based on "And" rather than "Or"
Currently the Highlighted Content Web Part allows you to filter based on more than one Managed Properties. That's great, however, when you select more than one property it displays all documents tagged with EITHER property, rather than displaying only documents that are tagged with BOTH properties.
For example, I have a library with tags for: Department, and Document Type. I want to display these documents on a HCWB in my Communication Site. I only want to display Budget documents from the Finance department. But I can't do that, I can only display all documents tagged with Budget AND all documents tagged with Finance.
This is a really basic functionality that I really need. Please fix ASAP

Our KM group needs this desperately to migrate to SPO from the 2010 site we're replacing.
We rely heavily on filtered feeds to deliver content and this is very much a roadblock.

Looking at the insane-world logic that this control uses, who would want to transparently OR together all of the filters of the same type, and AND different types? It is almost like the user story they implemented was incredibly specific.
I use a lot of metadata to make my site work, and this is just an absolute killer for me. I am trying to get my whole department to user SharePoint for their knowledge management, but this sort of thing just makes it so hard.
I don't understand it, the SharePoint team. Office has revenues in the billions of dollars, and yet the rollout of "modern" pages has involved years of drips. It almost feels like there are about 5 developers working on the project, and only in their spare time. I expect better from Microsoft.

Not sure the level of complexity for adding this but it is a show stopper for our SharePoint Migration. Hard to believe this is not a top priority. As Sylvie mentioned can we at least get an update?
AND Filter missing to serve our business needs
Still nothing on this?!
COME ON GUYS.
3 little words..."A N D"
Or at least give us a KQL input.
Or maybe just an update...?

FYI, Microsoft updated the web part documentation so here we can see the webpart's "logic": https://support.content.office.net/en-us/media/15b638d5-fc1c-434d-8e5e-aa1809b819f7.jpg
Poor implementation, too much valid cases excluded just by not having the possibility to choose the filter.

Yes please, make a chaining of AND and OR possible in this Webpart.
Ability to select between AND and OR operator is desirable.
If not possible, please at least apply AND operator (instead of OR) for conditions in highlighted content web part ASAP. With current implementation, it is really useless. Thanks

Agree with all comments. Not having this almost defeats the possibility of using metadata to surface relevant site pages in another page. From an information management perspective, it is quite limiting.
This is severely limited what we're able to do with Hub sites and curating our content in a sensible way. Please add!!
Please add this functionality immediately! I need this for several customers.
For a large organisation it's important that we give users what they need quickly. We need to be able to display breakdown documents for a particular subject such as Human Resources by Forms, Policies, etc but we are unable to as the Highlighted Content web part does not deal with a filter with 'AND' rather than just 'OR'. This filter will help a lot of users, please can you give this a higher priority.
Please, add this functionality, we need this also (managed metadata: departments/ document types)

Please. Refiners. We Need Them.

And this webpart is suposed to replace the Content Query webpart? We need some serious changes for this webpart in order to fullfill what we could do previous in classic.
Definately need to help with this as well! Need to be able to choose "AND" or "OR" like list views can.

Please FIX this ASAP. It is incredible that MS can release a product that is so limited. It must be possible to choose between AND/OR. Anything else makes no sense at all. Then the WebPart is light years behind CQWP
As a workaround I'm using a numeric column "Security Level" so you can use < or > comparison.
This column can be a calculation or lookup.

Running into this issue for multiple clients. This should have been in the web part from its first implementation.

Would also prefer a freetext KQL field for advanced mode and the ability to change AND/OR between filteres. Or as Keith stated. " If not, the consistent use of AND would be preferable. After all, this is how search refiners work on a search results page."
