Allow custom filters in Excel (online and desktop) when co-authoring
When two or more users are co-authoring an Excel spreadsheet and one of the users applies a filter or edits the selections in a filter, every users view updates to display the filter settings. It would be better if each user could apply their own personal filter settings.
This topic is also here, with status "work for this feature has started" but without time schedule:

what a surprise when one of my team (10 people) went on Sharepoint and tell me "Oh my God, when someone do a filter, everyone see it. Sharepoint Co edition is ****".
Everything was perfect and everydoby was waiting for Sharepoint. you destroy the happiness of this team in 2 secondes. I dont understand..
Custom filters would be very beneficial to my team & it would save a lot of time. Please add this feature. Thank you.
Yes I agree. I receive support tickets regarding this regularly. The issue being that with multiple users collaborating on an Excel spreadsheet, everybody's view of the spreadsheet is immediately changed when one user applies a Filter to a column. Very unsettling, confusing and unworkable for users.
unfortunately the more companies are using could / share drives this is becoming more and more annoying feature.
How are you expected to work with a shared file if the view constantly changes (filter or sorting) This custom filter or at least the option to not share the filtering/sorting with all online users is a absolute must. Looking at the history this has now been open almost 2 years - so MS is not really listening and hearing their customers.
I really hope MS do wake up
btw. check out on sharepoint is not an option for us as there are a lot of other issues using this method.
e.g. fresh uploaded files have to be manually checked in using the web page - which adds 2 min per upload

TOP PRIORITY PLEASE. Collaborating in the same spreadsheet is almost impossible without this feature. We have implemented excellent solutions in excel but without this possibility employees find it impossible to use the same files.
Please prioritize this issue
Is this not an option still? Google sheets can do it. I absolutely NEED this...
It's an absolute MUST. Users can't work anymore on shared files. There are a lot of filters, and now they have to define time in the day where each one of them are working on the file since everyone uses an other filter or tab. The sharing is just no usable in this state.
Please put it in priority. We have tens of thousands of user in our company. It's already becomming a major issue.
Thanks a lot.
Yes, it's a MUST! If you can't co-edit a file having your own view in a large Excel file, you lose 75% of the benefits of co-editing!
Agree. I don't understand either why it is still not implemented. As the co-authoring was supposed to replace the share of files but when we used to share we had each screen personnalized.

I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't address this. What's the point of Sharepoint and multi-user editing if you cannot filter without affecting the UI for other users?
Google Sheets has no problem with this (Create new filter view). There you can filter and edit while other users maintain their view + the data you changed updates as well.
Filtering is so far the bigges problem i found in co-auhtorig.
Upvoted. And it's not only filter. If one use, applies or removes pane freeze, it effects everyone else.
It seems like the co-authoring is working at client level (keeping the interface same) rather than at content level. It should only synch content changes and let all users manage how they want to view it.

Totally agreed. We work on the same excel file 10 people and when one of us filters the view it changes the view for everyone. This is very annoying. A personal view while co-authoring is very important.

Yes, I 100% agree. I face this usecase every day. Super important
