Allow custom filters in Excel (online and desktop) when co-authoring
When two or more users are co-authoring an Excel spreadsheet and one of the users applies a filter or edits the selections in a filter, every users view updates to display the filter settings. It would be better if each user could apply their own personal filter settings.
Sieglinde is totally right, this is a must have for collaborating
I 100% agree.
It is horrible to work simultaneous at the moment.

In Google Spreeadshet this is working correctly, is really annoying to colaborate at the same time and seeing only what others are filtering

I agree this is a great suggestion! One of my biggest gripes is a monthly Excel file I work on with 5 others and if someone filters the sheet, I cannot edit the cells I am after. Personal filters would be really efficient for co-authoring! Please make this for the Mac version as well!
I agree that this is great suggestion!
Microsoft has apparently started work on this as noted on the duplicate User Voice here: https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/274580-excel-for-the-web/suggestions/8192445-allow-for-personal-user-views-filters
Hopefully we see this implemented soon :)
In our workplace we have a lot of people working in the same excel sheet and we need to be able to make custom filter/views so that each person can filter and see what they need to see without affecting all others working in the same sheet.

We can't work like this !!

Yes fully agree with this unexpected behaviour. The best will be to hide the filter of the orthes users. Thank you

Now that the legacy "shared worksheet" feature has been disabled to promote the new Office 365 co-authoring feature my team is impacted with this missing custom filters ability. Is there a workaround?
Why has this not been done yet?
We NEED this feature!!
This topic is really important. It needs to be fixed quickly. This is really annoying. A personal view while co-authoring is very important! Thanks.
I have a workaround that we use in our department. We find the filtering or sorting will not change if we turn off the autosave function when working on the file.
Of course we must remember to save and when you do updates from other appear (if they have saved).
This works for us for now. Sorts or filters do refresh when you manually save, but it's much better for us. Happy Co-authoring!
Agreed. I just convinced my team to switch from legacy "shared" documents to co-authoring, and now we have to switch back because we rely so heavily on filtering.
