Send automatic replies once a day
In Exchange 2010, we used to find that automatic out of office replies were sent once per recipient per day.
This meant if a user was out of office for a few days, anyone sending messages to them would get an out of office reply each day they tried to send them an e-mail.
This does not seem to be the case in 365, and the message is sent once and once only to any recipient.
This can be a problem if the user does not specify a return date in their auto reply, as the recipient may send another message the following day assuming they are back, and they will get to automatic reply.
It looks like the only other option is to have an inbox rule to reply to EVERY message that comes in, which I always thought was bad practice, as it had the potential to cause mail loops. Plus it means if a message is sent to a group the user is in, the sender won't get spammed with potential 10s or 100s of auto replies if they send multiple messages to the group that day.
What we would like to see, is a return to the "once a day" mentality and functionality.
Make it an option: only once, once a day, or for each email. Only once works for holidays but I am on medical leave with no return date set, so I need the once a day thing!! D:

Why was it changed from once per day to only once?
