Allow PowerBI.com to Connect Directly to Azure Data Lake Storage across Azure Directories
Currently a Power BI desktop work can be created with a data source of Azure Data Lake store when provided with any URL and login details. This connector is still in preview, but works fine. If the workbook is then published to Power BI.com the data source credentials are lost and connectivity to ADL is only possible if the storage is part of the same Azure subscription as directory that Office 365/Power BI is connected to.
In reality we need the data source to be generic and for PowerBi.com and be able to authenticate across Azure AD directories.

Just want to reiterate this is a big need (summarized well by Paul here: https://www.purplefrogsystems.com/paul/2017/06/connecting-power-bi-to-azure-data-lake-store-across-tenants/). Currently the only workaround is to refresh the data in Power BI Desktop and manually re-upload the pbix to the Power BI Service. Automated refresh via either an AAD user account or via an AAD service principal will work just fine, because we can use either one as a service account (though the user account will of course be easier for more non-IT/non-Azure admin people to implement). Thank you.
