Please add an option to turn off automatic emoticons ASAP
I know it's not a new idea, but I wanted to create an addition suggestion in hope to draw attention to the much needed option. Having to use the backspace key every time after the emoticon automatically pops up is extra time consuming. I don't understand the point of a "plain text" option, why would anyone want to write an email without being about to add formatting when needed? Replacing that option with the option of turning off auto-emoticons is far more effective and useful. Fixing this ASAP would be greatly appreciated!

For what it's worth, the following suggestion is a duplicate of this. Can an admin please merge?

How obnoxious! The emojis come across as unprofessional, and I hate how the feature was added with no easy way to prevent it from happening. It requires an extra two keystrokes or the removal of formatting altogether. I don't understand why Microsoft would take a product geared toward business and turn it into a cartoon show.
The reason it's bad is because they all load as images and 1. this doesn't copy / paste into our text only "Student records" system (so it looks like I'm being terse when it's read without the smiley), and 2: they load as images and for some people this just doesn't show up. I'd rather the text based smiley.
Automatically inserting images into your email is a fairly big deal and it should have been obvious to include a setting to turn it off.
I don't mind having access to them, so I can click the menu and insert them myself, but automated inclusion is a bit heavy handed.

I really don't understand why this feature hasn't already been included. People using Office 365 are doing so in a formal, work environment. I certainly don't want errant emoticons appearing in an email I'm writing to my boss...
